Witch\u2019s Lock) cooperation is a grassroots network and platform for documenting, communicating and sharing knowledge on environmental and social impacts of nuclear power plant in Pyh\u00e4joki Finland and other industrial mega-projects in the region. Noidanlukko aims also to envision feasible decentralized alternatives for energy production, and integrates science, journalism, local knowledge, activism and art in its activities..<\/p>\n<p><u>More information is available <\/u><a href=\"https:\/\/noidanlukko.wordpress.com\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a><u>.<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>About the area:<\/strong><br \/>\nNoidanlukko cooperative has emerged as a response to planned nuclear power plant in Pyh\u00e4joki. Pyh\u00e4joki municipality is located by the Baltic Sea in western Finland 100 km south-west of Oulu, in north Ostrobothnia region. It counts 3199 inhabitants and it covers 1 365 km2. The population density is 5.9 inhabitants\/km2. The municipality includes Hanhikivi cape, a unique ecosystem and geologically exceptional area inhabited by various protected plants, birds and fishes. In addition to the ecological values, the Hanhikivi cape provides great opportunities for recreation with its sand and rocky beaches groves, and old-growth forests with fertile berry picking opportunities. The house functions as Information center and in the future it will host visiting artists, researchers, activists and other people interested about the Noidanlukko initiative.<\/p>\n<p>February 17<sup>th<\/sup> 2018 &#8211; Focus group with local stakeholders<br \/>\nThe SIMRA focus group was arranged at the Noidanlukko Information center.
